Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back for the 2011-2012 school year! This year's After Care program will feature a variety of new activities as well as the return of some tried and true. Each student will be given a “Passport” which will serve to record and encourage participation. Check out our activity schedule below!
Programs with a * are sponsored by the Elementary and Middle School Initiative (EMSI) and require a separate registration form. Starting date is to be announced.
* Performance Lab - Performance lab will feature instruction in vocals, guitar and theatrical performance! Featured performances throughout the year will be a Fall Musical Review, a Holiday Pageant and a spring miniature production of Beauty and the Beast. Whether you like to sing, dance, act or prefer to work behind the scenes, there is something for everyone! Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:00-5:30pm * Tutoring: Math and Reading - Tutoring will be provided to any students attending Aftercare in need of homework help or long term assistance. Ms. Sonia and Ms. Lisa will be heading up this program on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30pm . (2nd tutoring session to be announced)
Monarchs! - Come get in the spirit with the Monarch Dance and Drill Team! Monthly performances will be given to keep the routines fresh and the open to new students. Wednesday and Friday from 4:00-4:30
* Sports and Physical Fitness - For all those students with energy to spare, sports and physical fitness will feature a variety of activities, highlighting the importance of good sportsmanship and teamwork. Thursdays 4:00-5:30
Cooking Club - Come and learn the basics of cooking and baking with Ms. Lucille and Ms. Magdalena! Cooking club will feature new recipes on a weekly basis, progressing from simple to complex throughout the year. Mondays 4:00-5:00
- Arts and Crafts will be offered daily along with a variety of games and activities!
- In order to ensure ease of the 3:30-4:00 pick up, After Care will begin with a quiet period in which students will be allowed to read or draw. All programs will start at 4:00pm. Snack will be provided daily at 4:15. All programs are included in the Aftercare fee.
