Before & After Care Staff:
Vanessa Sanchez, TMES Before & After Care Director, is going on her third year with the TMES Before and After Care Program. She enjoys the performing arts and is excited to see this year's program expand to encompass all aspects of theatrical performance! She has studied Vocal Performance at UNM and performed with Teatro Nuevo Mexico on several occasions. She looks forward to continuing to improve upon the opportunities provided After Care students and to share in the happiness that only children can inspire!
Lucille Chavez, an alumnus of The University of New Mexico, has volunteered and worked with children throughout her career; taking time only to raise a family. She enjoys seeing children grow in character and creativity and showcases their artwork in her home! Her interests are yoga, gardening and Mah Jongg, in that order! She will be heading the Cooking and Gardening Clubs.
Magdalena Gerhardt is going on her second year as an activity leader for the After Care program. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor in Mathematics Education and a minor in Spanish. She has a passion for music and science and has produced several children's plays, including assisting with the TMES Summer Camp production of Cinderella. She would like to see the TMES Before and After Care program continue to grow into an environment that sparks curiosity and creativity!
Brett Haworth has an extensive history in the world of Fine Arts. Having taught at seminars across the globe from Siggraph, N.A.B. to Sandia Labs, eight years of teaching at Central New Mexico Community College , several projects in the film industry and an overall thirty years working with computer graphics, Brett is excited to be back with the TMES students in After Care again this year. He hopes to share his love and knowledge of the arts with students and encourage them to see the world from a different angle! Brett will be heading the Claymation lab and Chess Club, among several other activities.
Dalisa Contreras, former student of Principal Besante, will be joining the Before and After Care program to assist with the Performing Arts lab. She is studying Liberal Arts at Central New Mexico Community College and hopes to major in Cosmetology. Aside from school, she has worked extensively in the film industry including such productions as Terminator: Salvation, The Avengers, In Plain Sight and Breaking Bad. She looks forward to meeting the students and hopes to not only teach, but to be taught.
