Volunteer Wish List
We would love to have parents/guardians in our classroom! Please contact Ms. Karen more information and contact the office for volunteer requirements.
- Reader-Parents – We currently have volunteer Reader-Parents scheduled for all days. If you are interested, please email kreck@tmesnm.com to be placed on my “substitute list.” Thanks!
- Wash work rugs - Once a month (we'll set up a schedule together), take home and launder the small rugs we use for working on the floor with Montessori materials.
- Share a presentation - About your work, a hobby, your heritage or a special experience in your life. In the past one parent spoke with the children about Latvian language and culture, another gave a presentation about her Peace Corps experience in Africa, another gave a special presentation about germs and bacteria, and another presented the Junior Achievement program.
- Putting together Montessori materials - assembling the picture, label, definition cards or similar cards together at home.
In-School Volunteer Requirements
- Each parent that volunteers in the classroom or as a field trip chaperone must get a background check prior to their service. Please ask your child's teacher, Ms. Belinda or Ms. Marita in the TMES office, for a background check packet. It must be completed before your volunteering begins.
- Confidentiality is essential in all your involvement with students in the classroom. Your observations of individual students in the classroom can not be discussed with anyone beyond the teacher and EA.
Item Wish List
Here is an ongoing list of items that would enrich our classroom. If you are able to provide any of the wish list items, please let MJ know so the item can be take off the list. Also, every order from Scholastic Book Clubs earns helps to earn books for our class library. Thank you for your support of our classroom!
