Bio:

I have been teaching for 8 years.  I received my BA in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and my Montessori training through NCME. I am a licensed K-3 teacher, and have taught Toddlers, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. This year I am so excited to join the 6-9 community and to be co-teaching with Ms. Larissa!!

Like Ms. Larissa, I am a native New Mexican. I first discovered Montessori when my middle child began pre-school at a little Montessori school. I walked in the first day and fell in love with the materials, the mixed ages and the lovely Practical Life exercises I saw. Thus began my journey to become a Montessori Teacher; an adventure at every turn.

I love music and am a classically trained pianist. You'll hear me singing a lot with our class. Other hobbies include photography, travel and reading.  One day, I will travel to Greece and paint. My favorite thing to do when I'm not teaching is playing games with my kids and husband.

Bio:

I am a Native New Mexican. I was born in Albuquerque, but grew up mostly around the Espanola and Chimayo areas. After graduating with a Bachelor's in Art in the fields of Psychology and Sociology at NMSU, I first discovered Montessori at Escuela del Sol Montessori here in Albuquerque. I was an assistant to start with in the Montessori classroom. I was utterly impressed with what I had seen the children accomplish in the classroom at such a young age, so I left after the completion of the school year to begin my Montessori training. I trained in Boulder and became certified in AMS. I have worked in many schools, including a Charter Montessori school in Castle Pines, CO. I have eleven years experience in the 3-6 year old Montessori classroom with ten of those years being the head teacher. Overall, I have spent my entire career working with children from birth to age 19 in a variety of settings such as substituting in a public school; working in mental health facilities, and leading children groups at a shelter for Domestic Violence. Montessori is a passion of mine and a hobby. Being a Montessorian has taught me how to live a whole enriched life, and I work daily on my own mind, body, and soul. My goal for the children is to instill a love of learning and create healthy minds, bodies, and souls that last a lifetime. I look forward to Co-Teaching with Ms. Jenn, meeting all of you and your children and working with you through their process of development.
