Bio:
Mrs. Besante has led The Montessori Elementary School since the charter school's opening day in 2005. Mrs. Besante is responsible for all school-based operations and functions. In addition to her time as principal, Mrs. Besante has 11 years of classroom teaching experience in New Mexico. She has a BA from the College of Santa Fe and an MA in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language, Literacy, and Socio Cultural Issues from the University of New Mexico. Mrs. Besante holds a teaching certificate with endorsements in Teaching English as a Second Language and a K-12 Administrative License. When not at school, she enjoys cooking, sewing, and spending time with her husband, five children and three grandchildren. She is originally from New Jersey but has been a proud resident of New Mexico since 1981.
